Queen Seon Deok 선덕여왕

Currently that made South Koreans come rushing home to catch the latest episodes of the hit drama “Queen Seondeok,” which airs every Monday and Tuesday at 10 p.m. on MBC. Seems like the number of viewers are increasing every week, could this drama be another hit as big as Dae Jang Geum 大長今? We shall see..........

Synopsis
The story of a beautiful queen, who has to give up her love to save the people. With historical battle scenes and a star-studded cast, Queen Seondeok of Silla is the follow-up historical drama to MBC’s “Lee San: Wind of the Palace” and “Prince of Legend” for 2009!
Writer Kim Young-hyun of the famous “Jewel in the Palace” will be the main writer of this new TV mini-series.

A biopic of Queen Seondeok, who was born a princess and later became the ruler of Silla, leaving behind many brilliant achievements.

During the Three Kingdoms period of Korea...
Deokman (Queen Seondeok’s childhood name) was born a twin but was abandoned as a baby. She was later brought back to the Silla palace, where she joined forces with her twin sister Princess Chonmyong to oppose Mi-shil, who wanted to seize power. Mi-shil devised sinister plans to have the two Silla princesses exiled from the kingdom, and in a secretive battle, Princess Chonmyong was assassinated by Mi-shil. But Princess Deokman shrewdly enlisted the help of General Kim Yusin and eliminated her archenemy Mi-shil. She became the first female ruler of the Silla kingdom.

Common Decency

There's always couples showing their affection in public, be it hugging, kissing on the cheeks or the more physical affection. You see them on the train, at the malls and other public areas like the park. Weird couples that makes you cringe when you see them, especially an older male with a made-in-china young girl, can't help but to raise a few eyebrows assuming its a gold digging deal.

This isn't Paris or any European country where public affection is overflowing and abundance. Although our modern society, we still keep our behavior towards conservative. A peck on the cheek and a hug is practically alright. If the tongue is involved in the kiss, I mean, C'mon, is this what you want your kids to learn. I've seen couples hugging in ways I could never imagine, they could've just went on throwing one party to the ground and get into it in detail. Does 'get a room' applicable in this situation. School kids on the train, showing affection way too much, where the hell they learn such 'moves'? Clearly....the adults. Monkey see monkey do. I've seen a school boy reaching into the school girl's skirt and some physical rubbing action. Seriously not the way to start a bond fire with that kinda rubbing.

I'm surprised to encounter an Hindu staff working for the National Parks, making his move with a Filipino (hopefully she's not a domestic maid) at the park while I was jogging. The Hindu man had his broom (a sweeper I suppose) on the beach and sitting together with the Filipino girl holding each other (talk about interracial). The worst part is that the location they're sitting faces the whole main street. Its like announcing to the whole world they're having a 'good time'.

Is this the transition from a traditional way of thinking to modernized attitude? Probably in years to come, mobile love shags would be built in various location for people to have a quickie before heading to work or an activity after work before heading home. Maybe not. Keep it to the minimal, is that too hard?

Big 30 - Suxiang

Another new member to the 30s club, victim Suxiang. We were invited for dinner at Sakura, ate like pigs, and movie (we watched UP), followed by hanging out (my place). I really dun understand why Peiling was so amazing by the 3D glasses for the movie, I guess she thought that its really cool, even asked if we can keep it. DUH! Can't helped but to be freakishly shocked by the fact that Suxiang goes once or twice a week to the toilet to clear her bowels. That's like a whole lot of crap hidden inside god knows where. I wonder how she can handle the bloat? Fart? Lastly handed her the BIG 30 birthday card.
Proof as shown.

NDP 2009 Theme Song - What Do You See

Its kinda funny to approach Electrico to come out with this year National Day Theme Song, though I reckon the song had a different vibe comparing it from our past theme songs but in a good way, it did raise a few eye browns from what I read from the papers.

People commented that the melody was a challenge to remember, it sounded like Coldplay, there wasn't enough patriotic meaning in the lyrics and the list goes on. Well, we can't expect to fulfill everyone's expectation, wouldn't it be boring as hell if the melody was flat and monotonous, like a long continuous fart.... (you remember the rhythm and the smell) I'm sure it lacks the "I love Singapore" or the word "Singapore" but haven't we had enough of those days. It would be ridiculous if we name the song "Count On Me Singapore Again", "We Still Are Singapore", "One People One Nation One Singapore Part 2".

Its a change and to hell with the negativity. 'DEAL with it Singapore Singapore, together DEAL with it Singapore...............

Ion That Everyone Eye-On

No big hoo haa about The Ion, its just like any other shopping mall but with a wavy outer structure. I was quite intrigued with giant fig sculpture near the entrance, I wondered why not a durian instead. Hmmmm... Besides the basement where the food are, its actually a yawn. Posh boutiques and designer labels, not that we dun have those around now, its just that we have MORE of those crap to suck from the rich and spendthrift. The food section of the basement has an array of different tenants from the familiar to the new. Definitely more than just few are Japanese food which you will only see at The Ion, even Burger King has a posh outlook.

Had the R burger and it was sure messy when eating it. Everything starts to fall apart like an avalanche, patty, lettuce and all. Though I heard that the bun has collagen in it, it still taste a bit floury. Kinda like a thick plain white bread. The picture of the bun actually has a more pleasant appeal than holding it while stuffing in to your face. Verdict is, its worth a try.

Adolescent Development Malfunction

Can't help but to notice this kid that is overly expressive, almost as close as a diva drag queen or an annoying school girl. Posted on facebook by a friend, I pondered how the hell did the kid managed to get that kinda you-go-GURL attitude. "I want to be Michelle Chong coz my surname is Chong" - WTF!!! Disturbing uber uber.
